Description
The purpose of the event is to bring awareness of suicide, suicide prevention, with emphasis on our military.
Event Details
There will competitions during the event to include heaviest pack and ruck march completion with the fastest time. Awards will be given for the winners of the competitions. Ruck march is not a pre-requisite for participation as all walkers are welcome.
The event will begin at West Side Park in Gulfport where the participants will cross Highway 90 and begin walking on the beach walkway. Walkers will continue this route, heading west until they reach Espy Ave., in Long Beach. At this point, the marchers will turn around, repeat the route heading east, ending at West Side Park. There will be water stations at every mile for marchers to be given water during their route.
At the completion of the event, awards and recognitions will be given out.
